I measured myself yesterday and am pleased to report another 2 inch loss - from my hips and thighs ... looks like the glider is beginning to work. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll really notice the difference using the slendertone belt as well. I also weighed myself again (very naughty I know) and I'd lost 1lb.

This morning I was even more naughty and weighed myself again - another 1 1/2lb lost so I've actually done really well on the week. Amazing, and proof that this way of eating (and I guess all the extra exercise) really does work. No more measuring till Thursday now.

I had no carb hangover on Thursday or Friday, in fact getting back onto IPD was a breeze, however today it really hit me. Woke up hungry and so I had my protein shake much earlier than I would normally do on a weekend. The pub was really quiet and so I had eaten my lunch (smoked salmon, avocado & philly roll ups) by 2pm, a knock-on from the early breakfast I guess but it didn't fill me up. We served a lot of food today and it all looked & smelt lovely. I spent quite a lot of time trying to convince myself that chicken dippers would be OK to eat (they most definitely aren't!) but in the end got Mel to cook me a plain chicken breast which I cut into strips and had with some mayo. I nipped over to Bluewater after work as Holland & Barrett have changed their sale again and the protein shake powder is reduced to £9.99. I am so addicted to the shakes that even if I stopped all the dieting tomorrow I'd still happily have the shakes (although I'm not giving up the IPD tomorrow or any other day). Dinner this evening was some lovely home made burgers with chorizo, onion & dijon mustard which I served on portabello mushrooms with a mixed salad and blue cheese dressing. The burgers and mushrooms were cooked to perfection in my new Palson Gourmet pan, which is completely fab and a total bargain, but absolutely huge (it takes up most of my kitchen work top!). This was followed by some of Passley's custard (I made some more yesterday but split it between 3 bowls this time to make it last longer).

Yesterday I also had a go at making some IPD friendly meringues with the whites left over from the custard. Unfortunately they didn't turn out very well. All seemed to go OK right up to the point that they went in the oven and then it went downhill fast. They seemed to be missing that crispness that meringues have and so they ended up in the bin. Not sure where I went wrong - I used a mixture of egg whites and splenda and added a couple of drops of vinegar (thanks Nigella) to stop the eggy taste. So if anyone can tell me where I went wrong I'd be grateful 'cos I lurve meringues and would it would be good to have them occasionally (and it is a good use of the egg whites as I'm not entirely sure what else to do with them).

I got some of those control pants from QVC and wore them to work today. They definitely made me trimmer as I could get out of my jeans without undoing them, but because they pushed up my bottom the jeans looked all funny and baggy in the wrong places. Think they'll look better under a more tailored outfit or skirt. Definitely need to invest in some more, although they're not very sexy.

T congratulations on the weight loss and I bought some of those knickers as well, and boy do they pull you in, in all the right places!!!!!!
