Head Issues

Haven't posted for a few days as I've been a bit busy and also because I needed to think what to write. Although not surprised at my lack of weight loss last week, I was obviously a bit disappointed, and even more so when a friend from UKS who has started doing the slimfast diet (and not very well either I might add) announced that she'd lost 9lb in 5 days! Yes I know that me losing it slower is likely to keep it off longer and that most of what she's lost will be water retention, but it's still hard to take, especially when you read the amount of crap she is eating every day. In fact I started Saturday morning feeling more depressed than I've felt for ages. Fortunately, my mates were all supportive and helped me through my mini crisis without any slips.

I had been out on Friday night for Annette's birthday and had 2 small glasses of wine over the course of the evening, as well as several pints of water. It was interesting then to see the level of depression that hit me the following day over the weight issue, which was out of all proportion. Now I know my mood swings have been fairly stable since starting ipd, so I shall be keeping an eye on my moods after alcohol in future, as this obviously does affect me.

Saturday evening Andrea, Chris and I went to the pub for the evening. I had decided that I was going to have a drink, but then couldn't decide which of my limited options to go for and in the end drank water all evening instead. This wasn't a hardship and I still had a good evening.

I've changed my weekend food routine slightly, firstly in a bid to not get bored with the same food and secondly because I've become addicted to the protein shakes. On each day I've had a protein shake for breakfast. On Saturday I had my usual breakfast - smoked salmon, avocado and philly roll ups for lunch followed by a chicken & bacon salad with lemon & white wine vinaigrette for dinner, with a piece of the cheesecake for a late night snack. Yesterday I had an omelette for lunch (which I never got to finish until after work as we were so busy) and a late night meal of faux shepherds pie with green vegetables.
